Prevest Calcium hydroxide is an odorless white powder. It’s used in industrial settings, such as sewage treatment, paper production, construction, and food processing. It also has medical and dental uses. For example, root canal fillings often contain calcium hydroxide. Bactericidal calcium hydroxide powder for use in root canal therapy. It also plays a major role as an inter-visit dressing in the disinfection of the root canal system.  Calcium hydroxide retains its anti-bacterial properties for about two months when placed under a restoration, after which it degrades to calcium oxide and other less effective calcium salts. All calcium hydroxide preparations have a limited shelf life as they eventually turn into calcium oxide.
