Novabone Perioglas PerioGlas is the dental bone grafting material of choice for clinicians around the world because of its ability to predictably regenerate bone for patients and its ease of use to the clinicians including, periodontists and oral surgeons. Larry Hench back in 1970’s and was first commercialized for dental use in 1993.
Back in the 90’s there was a significant interest in periodontal regeneration. PerioGlas not only regenerated bone but also preserved the whole ‘Periodontium’. While PerioGlas was primarily indicated for periodontal defects, it could be used to regenerate bone in any or all osseos defects. PerioGlas was also marketed as NovaBone –CM for several years indicated primarily in the carniomaxillofacial fields.
While historically the purpose of a graft was to replace the missing tissue, PerioGlas was one of the very few synthetic substitutes that would completely resorb and regenerate bone in the defect. It demonstrated excellent bonding to both bone and soft tissues.
This product seals the margin and surface defects, leaving an extra smooth surface on final restorations.The harder material offers higher abrasion resistance so the restorations retain a brilliant, discoloration-free surface finish longer. Nothing rivals GC Fuji II LC Restorative in esthetics, simplicity and economy when it comes to: Class III and Class V restorations, Cervical erosions/ abfraction lesions, Root surface caries liner/base.This product self-cures quickly to put a smooth, sealing finish on glass ionomer restorations.
