A dental laser is a laser that is specifically intended for use in oral surgery or dentistry. The use of a laser can reduce postoperative morbidity and the requirement for anesthetics. Because the tissue is cauterized, there will be little bleeding after soft tissue operations, and some of the hazards associated with alternative electrosurgery procedures are avoided.
